PFEARFU participated in the Committee of Social Affairs in the Greek Parliament

On Thursday 20 February 2020, PFEARFU officially participated in the Committee of Social Affairs in the Greek Parliament in order to discuss and submit proposals on the new draft law of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Their main proposals were:

  • The military personnel should not demobilised before the required 40 years of actual service is completed, except for those who wish and apply for demobilisation;
  • The MoD should pay the employee’s insurance contributions for the remaining time of up to 40 years of service or 60 years of age in case he/she retires, because of an age limit or service requirements below the age of 60;
  • Recognition of the Hazardous Duties Allowance which is applicable to all categories of employees except the military.
