Meeting of EUROMIL and Finnish Military Trade Unions

On 25 November 2015, the President and the Vice-President of EUROMIL, namely Emmanuel Jacob and Flemming Vinther, visited the Finnish member association of EUROMIL (Päällystöliitto ry) in Helsinki. On the occasion of this visit, a roundtable discussion was organised with most of the other Finnish military trade unions.

Beside the host association, Päällystöliitto ry, five Finnish military trade unions participated in the discussion, namely the Union of Officers (Upseeriliitto), the Finnish Union of Non-Commissioned Officers (Aliupseeriliitto), the Trade Union of the Finnish Defence Engineers (MPI), the Union of the Defence Technical Experts (MTTL) and the Academic Engineers of Finnish Defence Forces (PVPI). All Finnish military trade unions are members of one of the two Finnish general trade unions and one of the two umbrella organisations dealing with collective agreements.

The Finnish delegates and EUROMIL shared information on their organisations and structures, as well their working methods and goals. EUROMIL is looking forward to a future cooperation with the Finnish military trade unions and invited them to participate as guests at the Presidium Meetings in 2016.
