Abstract – What means comprehensive approach? It means that crises and conflicts can be managed with a mixture of military, diplomacy and development assistances. However, the German Armed Forces Association would appreciate a more comprehensiveness as from the process of drafting strategies.  While the White Paper of the German Armed Forces is drafted, some political parties are working on an update of the action plan on crisis prevention, conflict resolution and peace-building. The German Armed Forces Association advocates the integration of both papers into one “grand strategy” which would not only be approved by the government, but also debated by the parliament.
