PFEARFU celebrates its 8 years anniversary

On Friday, March 28, 2025, the Panhellenic Federation of Armed Forces Union (PFEARFU) held an event to mark eight years of its dynamic presence in the institutional representation of Armed Forces personnel. The event was titled: “PFEARFU: 8 Years Standing by Armed Forces Personnel.” The event was moderated by PFEARFU ’s Gender Equality Secretary, Katerina Kiourtsidou, and Organizational Secretary and EUROMIL Board Member, George Zgardanas.

The event was inaugurated by Ilias Kollyris, President of PFEARFU, followed by a speech from Emmanuel Jacob, President of EUROMIL. Several high-profile political representatives attended, including officials from the Greek government, members of the European Parliament, and representatives from major Greek political parties. Additionally, the ceremony hosted military officials, representatives of trade unions, and members of various organizations. The association’s achievements over the past eight years were highlighted, emphasizing unity, collective effort, and a steadfast commitment to advocating for active-duty military personnel, with a focus on continued growth and impact.

Emmanuel Jacob, President of EUROMIL, praised PFEARFU’s remarkable achievements over its eight-year history, highlighting its strong representation of Greek military personnel at both national and European levels. Regarding the recent developments at the European level, he welcomed the various initiatives presented by the European Commission, as the White Paper for Defence readiness. However, Emmanuel Jacob stressed the need for continued advocacy for military personnel’s rights, criticizing the White Paper for neglecting human resources.
