While the EU Working Time Directive 2003/88/EC is applicable to military personnel, servicemen and -women are still excluded from any working time regulation in several EU Member States. Finding solutions to this breach of EU labour law is a fundamental necessity.

The meeting will aim at exchanging experiences and best practices as well as discussing challenges and eventually provide guidelines on how to implement the EU Working Time Directive in the European armed forces. The event will particularly focus on the Southern European countries and will gather representatives of national political and military authorities as well as representatives of military associations.
